Canon 5D Mark IV - Live View - Screen Brightness etc.
« on: March 03, 2017, 11:55:07 am »

I have my Mark IV set up as follows:

1. Manual
2. Mirror Lockup
3. 2 Second self-timer

My problem is this: when I click on Start/Stop to show Live View, I see a simulation of what the shutter speed/aperture are set to.

As a result, when shooting flash, for example, and leaving the shutter speed at 1/125, the screen is virtually dark!  :(

How can I set the camera to override the exposure settings and show me a Live View that is as bright as the scene?

Thanks.

Go into the menu, under the Camera Icon, one of the last menu groups (second from the last on the 5Ds). There should be a menus option: Expo. Simulation. Set that to Disable.
