Ferris wheel. Japan
« on: March 01, 2017, 10:20:33 am »

In Kobe there is a giant Ferris wheel at the waterfront. The garish colors against the gray sky caught my eye. Olympus EM1 with Oly 50-200 mm lens.

Excellent juxtapositon of colours and shapes. The exposure also captures the quality of the light in the background of the glowing sky. This may not technically be an abstract, but what are we to call on image that is really about shapes, colours and lines, even though we may recognize the subject?

I might call it a semi-abstract.
Anyway, it's very effective.

It's great in color, Peter, but it's also a study in graphics.
