Lofoten February 2017
« on: February 18, 2017, 07:30:34 am »

I visited the Lofoten islands once more in the first two weeks of February. Some days were overcast and the last week was wonderful weather.

Attached are a couple of pictures from the trip. I had good use of the Canon 11-24 f/4L lens on the Canon 5DSR on this trip. The first attached picture was shot at 11mm (uncropped and no lens correction).

More pictures here http://hanskrusephotography.zenfolio.com/p785895820 and more to come as I work my way through all the shots from the trip.

Wonderful set, Hans.

Are you shure the first is at 11mm? Looks more like a 35mm.

Thanks Slobodan, if you position yourself in a way that the 11mm is not exaggerated, then it will look like (e.g. 35mm as you say). A partial screen shot from Lightroom is attached that shows the 11mm :)

The screen shot is nice, but I really like the original 11mm shot.

Thanks Eric, what I like about the 11mm is that I can get horisontals with all included where I would otherwise would have needed to do a vertical and have much less horisontal space. Sometimes a vertical would be perfectly fine, but I like the more space. I'm thinking of a thread where I share the 11mm shots I have done since I got this lens.

If somewhat restricted in its contributors. I handled the 11-24 once and was hugely impressed, although scared stiff by thoughts of damaging the enormously protruding front element.

I keep the lens cap on while going around with the lens on the camera and only take it off when I compose and shoot. I agree it is so huge :)

Done in the same forum as I felt this was more about the use of this lens on landscapes than a gear post :)
