Breeding season in full swing
« on: February 06, 2017, 11:27:27 am »

Venice rookery seems to be doing OK this year, not what it once was for sure.  Most of the Mangrove Trees are gone, taken over by the invasive African Pepper. I am told that some group tried some sort of “intervention” or something and it appears a good bit of the foliage in the center of the island is no longer there.

Anyway here is one of the resident Great Blue’s heading back with a bit of nesting material.

Great shots, Larry!
I especially love the family portrait.

The bokeh looks quite "hairy" in the second photo, lots of "shimmy"... Which lens is that?
