Google is about to enter this market, too, but with a free-of-charge service.

There are already systems for taking advantage of multiple Gmail accounts for file storage.

These services are interesting, and would be a great way to add yet another way to store a remote copy of one's data. Unfortunately, while this would be great on 100mbit connections that one finds in universities and a few small countries, I have a 0.384mbit upload on my DSL at home. Backing up even a "small" archive of 50GB of photos will be difficult until faster connections are commonplace.
