But my eyes are attracted by the "black ink" cloud on the left.

Nice scene. Actually, the puffy black cloud, imo, adds a lot to the image.

That cloud seems to help the composition as an edge but also seems to catch the eye too strongly. Maybe if it was less black it would still act as a sort of edge without demanding attention?
