Mennonite Couple

Not that Mennonites aren't a common people; they are, but to find them on a beach in NW Florida is not all that common, thus an interesting focal point.

Well, they've got the power of their convictions, so more strength to them. Nice couple, nice shot.

I agree: Very nice shot.
But I'm also curious: How did you peg them as Mennonite? Did you talk to them? They just don't fit my mental image of Mennonites.

At first I thought they were Amish but I was informed by several people who lived in Amish country that the married women wore black bonnets and the Mennonites wore white. Some research shows that Mennonite women do not wear any rings or other jewelry which explained the lack of a wedding ring. There would be no other explanation for their being off the reservation unless as a honeymoon...

If you ever make it to Sarasota, I suggest stopping off at Yoder's restaurant. Great fried chicken. Best pies ever.

I knew there was a reason why I love this forum.  Must get to Yoder's.
