Incredible bang for the buck. Looks as though it's going to be a very comprehensive system.

Just wish it was as svelte as the Hasselblad X1D.

Yes, the GFX seems to be a very well executed camera system. What Fuji has done with it is very impressive to me. It is great that we have two really good choices. There are quite distinct pluses and minuses for both systems. The DNA of both Fuji and Hasselblad comes through quite strikingly in the differences between the two systems. It appears that the GFX will work really well from an operational standpoint. Frames per second, AF performance, lots of options in the user menus, rear screen LCD resolution, etc. Fuji's greater resources and experience with mirrorless cameras shows. On the other hand, the X1D is beautifully designed, it is smaller and lighter, has a much more elegantly designed user interface, and offers "real" leaf shutter lenses with full AF. Depending upon how one prioritizes these differences, one camera or the other would make the most sense.

It's becoming clear that Hasselblad knowingly lied to it's customers just to get out in front of a cheaper, more fully realized alternative...

Didn't they say HC lens adapter somewhere or was that wishful thinking? Wonder if that would take care of leaf shutter needs

Yup.

g-mount

I believe that the HC lenses are not AF on the GFX, at least at launch.

You really have to admire the technological prowess that Fuji brought to bear in incorporating Electronic First Curtain Shutter into the GFX. Phase, Hasselblad and Pentax have all used this sensor in cameras, and as far as I know, none of them has included EFCS. There was much skepticism expressed that it was even possible with that sensor.
