Lucky shot on the ice
« on: January 07, 2017, 04:57:51 am »

I was out in the woods late december. I found this lake that was frozen, but had about 1cm with water on top.
I walked out and tried a few frames, but the wind was so violent that I had to run after the tripod a few times (not easy in the dark on a Very slippery ice-covered lake :p )
But I ended up with this:

What do you guys think?

Very nice vibrant colours. Worth printing and hanging on a wall.

I agree. The result was well worth your suffering.

How long was your exposure. These night shot always seem to look soft. I think that is one area where film had an advantage. But you do have a good eye and fine image all the same. I particularly like the shadow under the log.

If you read the original post then the poster stated that it was very windy, hence the softness?

30 sec  :)

I had a few shorter with some added light and upped ISO, but it made the ice very ugly :p

Thank you all for nice comments :D
