On setting up the HP Z3100 printer.

SETTING UP THE HP Z3100 PRINTER

Hard to believe that Michael started a cascade of buying of the Z3100 printer and it was 10 years ago today (Jan.5, 2007 - Jan. 5, 2017).

I miss our friend Michael.  I appreciate greatly what he did with and for this forum.

I appreciate the fact that he uploaded that video 10 years ago which got me using the HP Z3100 printer.

I still have it today and 3 other Z3200ps printers.

10 years.  Where has the time gone?

Thank you Michael!

Mercifully we did very few 'un-boxing' videos but this was an enjoyable one.

The other I remember well (but have nothing on video) was unboxing the original DxO camera/lens testing gear that was shipped from France to Toronto at great expense. The target was on thick armoured plate glass and weighed well over 100 pounds. Michael & I managed to uncrate it outside his Toronto house and maneuver it into his basement.

Good memories.  Thanks for posting this Mark.

Yes, that's what tipped me to buy the Z3100.  I loved the features like the spectro, the colors, the large tanks and the glop.  It was amazing when it worked for me. Unfortunately I got tired of maintaining the beast.  It seemed like something was always breaking.  HP was incredibly unresponsive on a lot of things about the printer.  If someone near Charlotte, NC wants one I'll give them an incredible deal.

I'm very much enjoying my new Epson SC P800.

Hey Chris,

You guys did a really great job on that video.  It's also interesting to see the state of the art of video equipment back then as well.  10 years makes a big difference.  I often wondered how many people were there in the background helping unbox that printer.Michael was such a natural at being on camera, the video just seemed to flow.  No doubt that had a lot to do with your editing.  Unquestionably, you share the credit for getting the word out there about that printer.  I sure am glad you guys did it!

I bought my Z3100, which I still use today, because of Michael's enthusiasm for it.  Also saw another video with interviews and showing bits of the manufacturing process at HP in Barcelona.  I don't remember who directed my to that video - but it sealed the deal.  A GREAT printer.
