Seattle Februrary for Landscape
« on: December 30, 2016, 06:16:58 am »

Hello Everyone,

I wish everyone a great new year... I will be visiting Seattle this February and will have 1 day off that I want to use for landscape photography. I have found that Mt. Shuksan is a great option but I am not sure
;

1) if it is an ok time to shoot (I am pretty aware that may-june timeframe has bettter nature, flowers, colors etc).
2) where to camp and for the best Mt. View ? Or would you advise to stay in a close hotel (1 hour distance).

Or if you advise any other options for landscape photography in seattle in February greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Emre

Shuksan is a beautiful mountain to see, you have probably seen some really nice reflection shots of it in picture lake.
But in February, the lake will be buried in snow and the road up to artist point is normally closed form October until June.
And its a 3 hour drive from Seattle in good weather.
In about 1.5 hours you could be in the Skagit valley, lots of snow geese that time of year.

Seattle is a beautiful city, my advice would be to stay put and enjoy the city.
Otherwise you will be doing way to much driving and not enough time enjoying the light.
