Sunrise Lake Eyre South Australia
« on: December 23, 2016, 07:18:51 am »

A very early rise required to be on the Lake Eyre salt pan for sunrise.

This was after a very eventful and long day driving from Oodnadatta to William Creek.  We had a blowout on a rear tyre in the middle of the day (about 40c) and discovered the jack for the large 4WD campervan could not lift the wheel off the ground.  Two hours to change a wheel!

A harsh and bleak landscape made less so by the colours of emerging daylight. The clouds in the sky remind me of one of van Gogh's paintings. Thanks for getting up so early to capture this.

Despite the bleak landscape, I would imagine the spectacular lighting meant for many great opportunities. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot!

I don't foresee the bleakness changing for water this wet (I mean dry) season so plenty of opportunities in the coming months if one can stand the heat!

Great landscape and light, but I find the central position of the sun and the shrub lacking dynamic.
