Hi everybody.
I'm discovering that with the cell phones saga, when it comes to interview
It becomes a bit of a mess because of the variable framerate.
Testing phone footage generaly 20 min of interview for each files
Without transcode, sync issues appear in different NLEs.
The weired thing is that, for exactly the very same settings, sometimes the sync issue
Happens, other times it does not. This looks highly unstable/unpredictable.
So the cure is to transcode the raw phone footage to a fix framerate
And that cures all sins.
But...not as simple as it sounds. (Of course! Hassle free is not an expression
In vigor within the big mess of videoland)
At the condition that the transcoded material is really fix in metadstas and not
A "fake fixed framerate" most transcoders do. In that aspect it is a bit of a jungle.
I'm not impressed so far by the transcoders softwares I tested.
I'd like to have your views on that matter.
Could you recommend a particular software to transcode the files
That is 100% rock solid and can be ingested in any NLE?
For what I'm seeing on line, I far to be the only dude who
Experience hassles with cell-phones when it comes to long interviews.
Is there a procedure I ignore? Some mistakes not to be done?
