Sierra and Epson drives on 3880 and 7890??
« on: December 01, 2016, 06:01:31 pm »

After the update to OsX Sierra ver 10.12.1, my printer profiles and the way LR and PS is hadnling my Epson 3880 and 7890 printers have dramatically changed..
I have re-installed the drivers, profiles etc, but no change.. I took my other MacBook Pro, with ElCapitan, no issues whatsoever with the same profile and paper.
It's very counter productive to keep swapping files between my "good-bad" machine to my "OK-good" printing machine. It must be an issue with the driver files or am I missing anything else?
(Yeah, I have ensure that I am not double profiling the print, even though the resulting print almost look like a muddy drouble profiled print).

Anybody else?

Oh boy - if Apple has changed (or screwed-up) how Colorsync works between El Capitan and Sierra this would be very bad news indeed. I haven't upgraded to Sierra yet because I have concerns about quality control at both Apple and Adobe, so I can't provide a direct answer to you question; to sort out whether this is a generic issue or a single-user one, I think it really important that as many knowledgeable upgraders as possible respond to this thread so we can understand whether there is anything to be generically concerned about - one element in addressing your problem.

Are you sure you're using Epson drivers and not the Apple ones?

Nothing changed. Everything worked. Any one that has issues has an anomaly in their system.  I’ve got at least 10 users that I know of with Epson printers that have upgraded with no issues.

I’ve been on Sierra for quite some time now, no issues.

YOU guys ROCK!!! Thank you sooooooooo much. I have been searching and searching for a likely fix.. And nowhere else than here did I find the solution! My biggest fault was to not check Lula first  ;)

Thank you again, for all your replies..
Sorry it took so long to try out this solution.. Been busy setting up the new DNP photolab printer, but pheeeewiiiooo, I am breathing easier now.

Thanks again!
