Breathing Color still has not fixed shipping problems..

In fact they are worse, much worse.
Really like BC's Lyve canvas and Glamor II varnish.
I stopped buying their canvas but still purchase the varnish.
The shipping from Ca. to Pa. was killing me and it took a full week every time I ordered.
Started getting my canvas from Lexjet as it is pretty good stuff and gets here from the Delaware warehouse in only 1 day.


So for the rant of the day.
I have an order from the local hospital for 125 24x36 and 16x20 gator mounted and framed canvas to be finished the first week of Dec.
I keep a fair amount of stock just not that much gloss varnish. I ordered 3 gal of Glamor II from BC on Nov. 14th.
Figured they are now in Texas and the total ship time would be reduced to 3 days. Well was I in for a shock.
I waited until the 21st. a full week to call as I was worried the shipment might be lost. The csr says I see you ordered the morning of the 14th and it was sent out the 17th.
That is like 80 hours to process and get out the door?? Certainly I know I am not the only order, but 80 hours?
Expected receive date is today, 9 full days after ordering.
Sad to say this but BC just lost a very lucrative account.


Ps: B&H sells the varnish but had no gloss in stock.

According to Marylin Sholin (a Corel Painter expert) Glamour II is re branded Super Gel Nova-209.

Received my shipment today, 9 1/2 days since order.
Am in a much better mood now.
Now who wants to help me spray a hundred large canvases.
Better yet who wants to help but together all these metal frames, yuck!
Never satisfied, no work then too much work..

Lexjet Sunset reserve matte and Sunset Reserve Bright.
Still have a half dozen rolls of Lyve, a very good canvas despite the company.

I just started using a Z3200 yesterday. I have an old roll of Lyve and a roll of Hahnemuhle Leonardo. I'm having a hard time getting good results.
What is the difference between Reserve Matte and reserve Bright?

I only print my own work and it is strictly portraits.

LexJet Sunset Reserve Matte Canvas is a poly/cotton blend with a bright-white finish that is slightly more textured and slightly less bright than LexJet's popular Sunset Select Matte Canvas.

The lyve is great stuff. what issues are you having. Is your profile good?

Hard to describe, sort of a cloudy look.
I will reserve judgement until I coat it. I will try to create a new calibration and profile tomorrow, just not sure which media to base the preset on. The one I made was based on Matte Canvas, but I don't think its that good.
How does Lexjet compare to Lyve.

I actually like the lyve better. Nice texture and less surface defects.
I get more of the black cotton seeds with Lexjet but they only show up with a really light background.

When BC was taking my money and giving me all kinds of BS stories about when I would receive the canvas I tested a number of the lexjet products and choose the one they did with Frederix. The Frederix Sunset, with bright white with  no oba. I really like it and have used it since then.

Look at those current prices !  Makes me wish I had a 64" printer.

I also had two bad batches of that damn Timeless varnish. They admitted to me they had some bad batches but wouldn't replace it because my serial number wasn't visible.  I kept getting all this horrible spotting with it. Over the last 17 years I've used all kinds of acrylic latex varnishes and I had no problems with any of them functioning, except that Timeless.

So when I started using the new Frederix Sunset I just bought the Hahnemuhle varnish and everything has been easy since then.
