Perhaps you mean the RX-10iii?
I'm a Nikon D800E user (and former Oly 4/3s user) and decided to leave the FF system behind in favour of the Sony RX-10iii for recent trips to Iceland then England and am thrilled with the results.
The combination of a relatively fast lens (f2.8-4), greater depth of field of a smaller sensor and flexibility of a 24-600mm lens resulted in much more "nimble" photography, yet the quality is still there for printing books and fine prints for the wall up to 17x25". Despite being a dedicated tripod user for decades, I found the freedom offered by faster shutter speeds and great stabilization liberating. I can do the photography I like to do at low ISO (64 to 200) with the depth of field I need for grand landscapes and still handhold. At the edges of daylight, I add a monopod shoot carefully and have no issues with sharpness.
I also lived, worked and photographed in Tanzania for 4 years, so I know what you're in for in Kenya. I would have no hesitation relying solely on an RX-10iii for a trip to East Africa (or anywhere for that matter). Having a 600mm f4 lens (plus every focal length up to that) would be wonderful! The RX-10iii is also a less intimidating camera for street and village shooting.
All the photos on my Flickr page since June were made with the RX-10iii – have a look.
That being said, I am tempted by the new Oly M4/3s with 12-100mm zoom Kevin recently previewed, but would be missing the longer focal lengths offered by the RX-10iii.
Good luck and have a great trip!
