How Do I Renew My Subscription?
« on: October 31, 2016, 09:34:35 am »

Hello all,

I don't see a link within the Account section allowing me to renew my subscription.  I know it's probably staring me in the face and I'm just missing it, but...  can someone tell me where to look?

Thanks!

Currently, you have to wait until your subscription has actually expired and then renew. PIA

We are looking to change this and frankly have not properly prepared to accept renewals.

Our apologies for the emails and we are working to institute a proper fix.

A Renewal FAQ will be forthcoming today and hopefully a proper fix within a week or so.

BTW nobody's subscription expires before November 29th

This is what we are currently telling subscribers about renewals.

"Once your subscription expires on the 29th of November, you will be able to renew the subscription through your account. So on November 30, you will see an option (button) in your account to renew your membership and we will send out an email with the correct link for your convenience when this occurs."

Thanks Chris. Admit I was confused today when I got an email saying I should renew, but then when I clicked the link it said I couldn't renew until the previous year expired.

Hi Chris,

I was wondering the same thing about renewal. Just received an email about membership expiring and it had a link to renew. However it states to return after membership expires.  Now since reading these current postings I know that there is no issue on my end and I just have to wait until after membership expires to renew.  So I assume now that I should just wait until after November 29th to renew.

Cheers!

Since the site's Membership is administered by MemberPress, it is apparently overly complicated to enable Membership Renewal before it actually expires. (Custom coding out-of-box sftw solutions is done at some risk to overall health!)

As a result and for the forseeable future, Membership renewal may only take place once current Membership has expired.

Once your membership has expired, you can renew by visiting this page.

• If you have Auto-Renew enabled (the default) and a valid credit card or PayPal account set up within your account, your membership will be automatically renewed.

• If you have a complimentary membership, please renew after your membership has expired.

• The Auto Renew feature may be turned On or Off by Members in their account settings as desired.

Geez, what a PITA.

I would have thought that the ideal situation would have been to renew BEFORE expiration.

As it is now I can get to the forums but I can't login to the main site even after a password reset.

Hi, the reason for that is that you have two registrations which conflict between the Membership and Forum databases. I will ask our tech support people at SwellFire to blend your two accounts under the username: rdonson

First you have to log in.

Then, once your Membership has expired, go to this page

Hi Chris,

I cannot see in my account setings whether Auto Renew is turned off or on. The only info that is shown is my user name?

Ok, I thought I could add the payment and the automatic renewal in advance...

Thanks, Chris!  I'll let you know when that works.  Not sure how I got two registrations.

I had auto renewal in place but it didn't happen so this morning I was locked out.  So then I went and put in for a new subscription and now I have two charges on my CC for $12.00.  This doesn't seem to be working right.  Can you just extend my subscription to two years since I paid twice?

Apologies for the problem

Neither transaction from today has completed at this point. (Your credit limit may have been lowered by $24, but no charge has actually gone through)

I have asked our tech guys to figure it out for you. They will be in touch

Is there any way to update credit card information on file? I have "auto renew" turned on, but my cc has been updated since last year...

Yes, but your subsc does not expire until Dec 18. Wait until a few days before

There is a General FAQ on Membership-related questions here:
https://luminouslandscape.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

- which does not answer that question properly - we will update! ))

Hi Chris,

I was unable to renew until my complimentary membership had expired (Nov 29th) the other day. Once that occurred I had no issues and it worked just fine. Did receive an auto email stating that my current credit card will expire before next renewal. I assume once I receive the new card in a few months I can just update my account?

Cheers!
