Epson r2400: Color inks in "Neutral" B&W prints
« on: July 05, 2006, 10:14:06 am »

I've been experimenting with the R2400 printer in black and white mode.  I've noticed shades of color on on the "neutral" prints.  Epson tells me they run small amounts of color ink on the "neutral" prints to keep the heads from clogging.  My questions:  Will this color affect the archival quality of the B&W prints (rated 200+ years)?  Any way of printing without engaging the color cartridges - maybe a RIP of some sort?

Cheers,

QuadToneRIP ( [a href=\"http://www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRoverview.html]http://www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRoverview.html[/url] ) is just what you need.  Works great on my 2100, and now 2400 is supported as well.  Download and try it for free; when you´re convinced, pay 50 dollars for the license.  Dirt cheap for what you get!
