Captured By Light, Black and White Photographs~ Fifty Years
« on: October 29, 2016, 04:34:40 pm »

The just published monograph by our beloved Eric Myrvaagnes... exquisite! Treat yourself to a copy of this beautiful celebration of light. From one of the deeply felt and carefully chosen quotes welcoming you from one room to another, " I pray that these things never end, " ...

Congratulations Eric! (Michael was smiling before his copy ever arrived)

Mine's on its way, Patricia!

But Eric and I agreed on canoes. It's a gentle, boy thing.

That will depend on whether there's a current flowing into the Med through the Straights, or whether there's an almighty wind blowing all before it up towards Iceland...

I'll keep you posted (groan!).

I was just thinkin'...

I wonder if there's some way that LuLa can use its popularity across the world to do marketing of books it's endowment sponsors, etc. or even if it has something to contribute across an even wider base, regarding such things. It could perhaps interest some publishers of photographic monographs and so forth. Maybe I'm reinventing the wheel, and all of this has been discussed internally, long ago.

It would certainly be nice if LuLa were also a kind of "place to go to" for information on photographic publications.

Kevin? Chris? Has this crossed your bows already?

I want to thank all who took advantage of my pre-order offer.

And special thanks go to the Luminous Endowment for funding this project, and to Patricia for the nice marketing post here, which has already gotten one new sale.

I have now posted updated information on my website, myrvaagnes.com. For some sample images go to http://myrvaagnes.com/booksample/ and for ordering and pricing information go to http://myrvaagnes.com/booksample/ .

I have taken notes on every step of my first try at designing and publishing a book, and I will be reporting all of that to the Endowment.  I will propose to Kevin and Chris that my essay also be posted on LuLa, as I think my experiences might save some headaches from others considering making their first photo book.
