Salty Air
« on: September 28, 2016, 03:36:30 pm »

This is in Strandhill, County Sligo on Ireland's west coast, a small but vibrant seaside resort fronting the wild Atlantic Ocean. The next parish from here is the United States of America.

There comes the moment when the mental comparison gets made: do these people inhabit the same planet as the folks in the world of haute couture?

Not meant as a vitriolic criticism, but absolutely as measure of the vast differences in human lifestyle and preoccupation...

Somewhere I have a photo of a village police station from out that way: a lovely little pink house with hanging flowerpots and erupting blossums.
Difficult to get further from the modern bunker mentality of law enfocement.

It's a cheap photographic trick: inside the pink house is a much larger dungeon with all the electrical contacts you could imagine; even the handcuffs plug in!
