Sandhill Crane
« on: September 20, 2016, 02:25:43 pm »

I was looking through my Lightroom catalogue again and ran across this guy. As near as I can tell from my records I haven't posted him, though I have to admit I'm not sure. In any case this picture illustrates the fact that even if you're there with a camera, if the camera's not at the ready you're out of luck. The crane held that pose for just about a full second. Fortunately the camera was in my hand.

Nice pose, Russ. Crisply focussed, too. I'm pretty sure you've not posted it before: I think I'd have remembered.

Yes, it is a memorable image. A great use of a visual second.

I like it, Russ. Sandhill Cranes are fascinating, especially during courtship.

It was worth finding and I don't remember seeing it before. A fine image.

Thanks all. That picture illustrates HCB's dictum once again: "It's luck that matters. You just have to be receptive. That's all."
