Although Saturday didn't work out timing and weather-wise, Sunday morning was very nice. I got to do one of my favorite things: Get up early and start hiking before astronomical dawn when in a place for the first time. I usually get a strong sense of place while the light changes from barely seeing the trail to sunrise.
It turned out to be a bright blue sky morning, but the canyon provided shade in parts through 9:00 am. Here is a link to some images:
