Messing around with some older files, and stumbled across on I'd never worked on before. I've been in the Valley many times under amazing conditions, but for whatever reason, only very rarely with the classic mist-high-on-the-granite-walls look. Stopped at the turnouts where you can see El Cap to the north and Bridalveil to the south, and walked in about 100 meters from the road to get a better comp, IIRC, but with all those famously obtrusive trees, I had to backtrack and use the equivalent of a FF 90mm lens to get them out of the way.
Here's hoping to a MAJOR Winter on the west side this year, as yesterday on the east side, Mt. Tom and several Tahoe area ski resorts got more than just a dusting. There is just nothing like Yosemite Valley in deep Winter. No people, endless comps.
