HP Z3100 - special printheads for ink purge?
« on: September 11, 2016, 03:35:42 pm »

I just inherited a 24-inch HP Z3100 that has been sitting around for a long time.  Once I got it put back together and got it to the point of printing, the diagnostic image was a complete blank.  Zip, nada.  Then it asked me to replace a printhead, which I did.  Another diagnostic print and I got a *little* image from that printhead, but nothing else.

My guess is that there's something wrong in the ink supply.  Looking up the purge procedure in the service manual it makes reference to special "service printheads" that are to be used for the purge operation.  Does anybody have a part number or something for these?  They're not listed in the parts lists in the manual, and googling around doesn't find me much...

Thanks!
