I searched and didn't see a recent discussion of this particular problem, so here goes:
I work in higher ed and manage Mac computer labs. We have the enterprise version of Adobe CC 2015.5, which is packaged for deployment by one of our team.
The apps install fine, but updates fail for the most part. I Googled this problem and found we were not alone (see
here and
here, for starters; note comments on second link).
Below is an example of the results of me running the RemoteUpdateManager command over the network (using Apple Remote Desktop). Note that while many updates were available, most did not download/install. (However, more recently, the latest InDesign updater did download and install, so maybe Adobe fixed something?).
There seems to be a workaround where you use the Adobe Cleaner tool to remove the suite (it doesn't do a thorough job, BTW), reinstall, then run a local RemoteUpdateManager file from the desktop. In this case all updates download and install as expected, but an Adobe Cloud sign-in dialog launches, which it shouldn't for enterprise software (although it can be bypassed, but this is not good for the end-user).
One other thing I noticed:
If you open Adobe Application Manager and look at the preferences, not all installed apps are listed under "Only show updates for the following products". That too is a problem (PS and IL are missing from the list).
Ideas?
This is why we need Adobe to reinstate links to downloadable update files (like Apple does).
