Butterfly's Lament
« on: August 25, 2016, 01:40:54 pm »

"Oh man, it's been a lonnnngg summer."

FWIW: Despite his tattered wings, this swallowtail flew rather well, albeit a bit more slowly than others of his species. He spent a good long time sipping nectar from the coneflowers and stay nearly an hour in my garden before flying off. I wish him well.

Personally, I hope summer sticks around well into September.

Thank you for viewing. Your comments are welcomed.

Bob,
Like this a lot. Not a tourist postcard.
Technically fine, portraying nature without illusion.
Thank you.

I don't know how to shoot them - they're so shy! The more beautiful - the more shy!
While we managed to catch some by fingers as kids (yeah, I know it's bad for them but we were kids and there were plenty of them), they seem to disappear as soon as I take out the camera now. And the tele-lens shots aren't even worth storing - not to mention uploading here.
I like this one.
