But it does further suggest that Sony is targeting the general photography crowd more and more - not just nonaction specialists and early-adopters - and that the A9 is likely to be an action-capable (although not sports-focused) system in the same vein as the 5D3 or D750, suitable for use by wedding and event photographers (quite a few are already using the A7r2). After all, the 16-35/24-70/70-200 f/2.8 combination is a classic setup for them.
I'd expect the next zoom after that to be a telephoto in the 100-400 or 150-500 range, then a dedicated UWA like a 14-24.
