Phase One Raw Processing
« on: June 16, 2006, 05:37:02 am »

I have a Phase One P30 back, and the Capture One software works very well.

The thing is I have installed and activated the software on two computers and I am about to buy another computer. Now I have to decide to buy more licenses for Capture One or look for other raw processing programs that can handle the P30.

Does anyone know of any WINDOWS based raw processing software that can handle P30 raw files?

Hi

Talk to your dealer.  There is a version of Capture One called DB which is for digital backs only and can be installed on as many computers as yhou like.  It works only with the DBs though.

The version I have requires activating. The phase one web site has a record of the two activations I've made so far and says I have none left.

Hi,

I know this will sound like I want every thing for nothing, but I also use a Canon EOS 1Ds and EOS 350D. Before I got the P30 I used to use Pixmantec's RawShooter (which I loved) and I tried for a while to use RawShooter for the Canon's and Capture One for the P30, but I found it a bit of a pain switching between the programs so I have been "forced" to standardise on Capture One Pro.

I know if I put C1DB on the new lap-top and try to remember only to take that machine if I know I will only be using the P30, I mix things up take the wrong laptop with the wrong camera and not be able to process images.

Are Phase One actively preventing other raw processors working with P30's?

Unless things have changed, the C1 license permits installs on three computers. Are you sure you didn't re-install at some point using an activation? If so, you can email P1 and have them add an activation back. I had to do this once when one of my computers had a HD crash.
