Wild daisies in harsh light
« on: July 09, 2016, 03:03:12 pm »

Inspired by this luxborealis' post a few days ago. Taken by great-grandfather of his camera, by the 2005 bridge camera Sony DSC-R1 - EXIF info included.
The shot was taken five minutes after astronomical midday (we've got daylight saving time here) at focal length 71.5mm (120mm eq.), f/4.8.
While Sony RX10iii takes an 11-year technological advance, the larger sensor of DSC-R1 could make the background/bokeh a bit different. Judge for yourself.

This veteran camera is a matter of my heart. If anyone wanted to trade ;D, I'd probably change it for the new RX10iii but it would be very hard for me.

Important: Please don't expect any kind of art here. The shot was uploaded just for fun and comparison.

Bokeh looks pretty good. And the bee looks kind of artful.  ;)

Thanks, Eric. :)

Actually, the bee (or rather a kind of hoverfly) was captured only in one shot - probably not the best one, but it made the picture more "spicy".
I was struggling with a brisk wind (changing focal distance permanently) - and one can't shot a burst with such a veteran camera. With JPEG+RAW you wait 4 or 5 seconds for the next shot. :D

Great shot from a camera with great specs that still seems to produce excellent-quality photos after all these years. Sony is still pushing the envelope.

Thanks for sharing.
