Coneflowers in soft light
« on: July 04, 2016, 03:30:46 pm »

I awoke to wonderful soft light this morning resulting from a layer of clouds, a harbinger of the rain to come later in the afternoon. Many of my coneflowers have started to bloom, so what better time to do a little photography?

For those in the States, Happy Independence Day. (It's raining as I write, soaking the crowds waiting for the annual July 4th parade in my hometown, and probably postponing the fireworks scheduled for tonight, as well.)

Cheers, Bob

Wonderful light indeed. The first one is especially winsome.

This serie is far better than the other one.

All are very good.

My preference goes for the amazing colors of the 2nd.

Have a Nice Day.

Another beautiful set and #2 is my favorite with its strong, vivid colors.

Bob - Lovely series. All are excellent, but the first is shows particularly thoughtful composition. Well done.

You and I must be on a similar wavelength as I spent an hour yesterday photographing some wild coneflower here on our school campus, but in harsh light. I like your work better.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to each of you for your comments. I greatly appreciate your kind words. This was one of those photo sessions that just didn't need to be forced. I had taken walk in my garden earlier this morning prior to getting my camera, saw the flowers depicted in photo #1 here, and simply knew there were great images just waiting to be captured. This doesn't happen too often to me, so it was a wonderful and unexpected gift.

Best wishes,

I think that we've all probably encountered occasions  such as the one you mention and they are rare but seeing the results afterward is so rewarding.
