Aloha,
Yes I used a halogen flash light to paint the tree at the end of the exposure.
Wish I would have had more foreground...

I like the overall feeling of the photo, but find the composition not too attractive. Perhaps crop the left hand side? Don't know...

This is a beautiful photo with gorgeous hues of magenta and I think that you could go further with it. For instance, you may try cropping on the left or right to see the effect that this causes. I would encourage you to attempt to re-shoot a similar scene at a similar time of day/night to capture the the same or slightly more or less light (another variable with which to play/adjust). As you suggested, if you were to capture slightly more of the foreground it may change the composition (this may be either good or bad; you will not know until you try). You are very talented and it is a great shot. Thank  you for sharing.
