We recently did a comparison of the Hasselblad HC35mm/H5x/IQ3-100 to Phase One SK35mmLS/XF/IQ3-100.

I'd hate to criticise the testing efforts of our resident Phase One dealers, but could we also have the same test for, say, the HC-50 II?  ::)

Interesting test and thanks a lot for making this available.

I have to agree that you guys picked what may be the best Schneider lens against what may be the worst Hassy one. Price ratio is also close to 2:1. ;)

The Schneider is clearly better and excellent in absolute terms but the Hassy is performing a bit better than I thought it would based on my 10 years old memories.

Cheers,
Bernard

Has anyone tested the Phase 28mm against the Hasselblad 28mm? Better yet the Phase Tilt/shift system against the HTS that would be great to see! :D

I'm honestly interested to see how the HCD 35-90 would compare.  I wonder how coverage is with the H5X and the 100mp sensor.

The Mamiya 28mm f4.5 was already a very average lens with my Mamiya ZD with an even worse price/performance ratio, I doubt it had improved with time... ;)

No doubt it must me the next lens in line at P1/Schneider for an upgrade, but when you consider the size and weight of the 35mm already, I seriously wonder whether they have the ability to build such a lens with a reasonably fast aperture. Odds are they would make it a 28mm f5.6 and that may be fine.

Same thing with Otus, the 28mm f1.4 is amazing, but it is already beyond what's reasonable size/weightwise for a 35mm lens. There will be no Otus 20mm f1.4.

Cheers,
Bernard

Joe it's the same coverage as with the 60MP so a pretty minor crop.

One would expect the 35-90 coverage to be only restricted at the short end, probably between 35 and 40mm or so.

Congrats indeed, great work, in particular the lighting is wonderfully natural looking!

I have to agree that the look of those H lenses is very nice too.

Cheers,
Bernard

Bravo Nick - nice showcase!
Go ahead and blame the camera for the image quality, if you must  :)
