Canon PRO9500 Print Head Issue
« on: June 06, 2016, 10:09:50 pm »

http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3530590

I have the same exact issue that this thread explains. It is affecting the PBK, PC, and PM cartridges. Lower half of the Nozzle Check print out is missing on the PBK ,and 1/2 as dense on the PC and PM. The responder to the thread says it is an electrical issue, frankly I had come to this conclusion myself, cleaning the print heard ink wept freely from all of the heads.

I've cleaned the contacts on the back of the print head assy. And the spring leads on the print head carriage.

Anyone seen this before and know where to find the short? If I can't fix it I'll have to buy a new one... printer that is. I havenot found aftermarket print head, besides the short may not be in the head, so it would be a gamble to just replace it.

Thanks!

Currently you can get a PRO-100 for $99.99 including a 50pk of 13x19 SG paper from BH and others.

A Pro9500 is a pigment ink printer, the Pro100 a dye ink.

Yeah, If I have to replace, not sure I would go with Canon again. CAnon seems to be a bit heavy on the blacks. The bugger is I just bought a new set of cartridges... 125.00 down the drain.

The Epson P600 looks pretty nice. But seems to be a more expensive printer to run. Consumables are expensive.
