The Digital Negative
« on: June 05, 2016, 07:32:26 pm »

Kudos to Jeff Schewe for his book The Digital Negative (second edition). I missed the first edition, but caught this one. Jeff is able to explain how Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom work simply enough that anyone can understand it. If you use Lightroom, Bridge or Photoshop you need this book.

Good job, Jeff.

Good job, Jeff.

Thanks for your kind words...and may I say I think you have excellent taste?

Riding aside, I appreciate it!

I will order it immediately!  I always meant to get the first edition - but I seem to be so busy doing this photography stuff that I hardly get time to read....!

Indeed, I have the 1st edition, bought it more or less at about the same time I transitioned from PS Elements to LR.

I have both editions. They are superb. My only problem is I can't resist spending too much time doing photography sloppily instead of taking the time to read Jeff's books more.

Resolution: I will spend more time with the second edition.

Won't help: you need a bigger and/or better sensor with more pixies.

Good timing; I was just about to pull out edition #1 to reread it and attempt to soak a bit more of it in. Wonderful series!

To those who have both first and second editions, are you able to share any thoughts on the new content or updates?

Agreed!  His books are a wonderful, authoratative, resource.  They are tightly written, beautifully organized.  Most of all Jeff "really" knows what he's talking about.
