I'm having trouble printing true borderless with a roll of metallic paper (RR)—no matter what settings I try I'm getting a thin white border which I don't want. Does it on my Mac with latest Lightroom and Photoshop. I was able to print borderless prints a few months ago but now I'm very frustrated. If you have any idea to try much appreciated. I'm using the latest printer driver, OS and software. I spent hours on the phone with Epson and they couldn't help and none of them had spent any time with the printer so I'm dependng on a user to help me figure this out. Thanks.

Basic things out of the way first. (Lightroom)
Proper custom paper size set in page setup.
Zoom to fill checked.
Printer:Page setup-Roll paper-Borderless (Auto Expand)
Proper cell size set and lastly 0 Margins.
Does your preview show borderless left and right?
If that does not do it I am at a loss too.

Thanks, if I do what you say I get an error message on the printer display: Non-supported paper for borderless printing is loaded..
This 17 X 22 roll is supported as I did get boderless before. Epson told me to upgrade my print driver; maybe it has a bug? I'm using 9.69.

The image displayed shows no border as it should.

Screen shots of your dialog boxes might help. If you are getting that dialog then some other option is necessary. The thin white line means the printer is not using borderless mode.

Only certain paper types are supported.

What do you mean by 17x22 roll?
My driver is still 9.41, I may just leave it alone.

Sorry, the roll size is 17 X 100 Red River metallic which has in the past given true borderless. I wouldn't upgrade your driver if its working for you although I think something else is going on. I'll try Photoshop again and see what happens.

Rather than make a custom print size why can't I use the already existing 17 X 22 borderless, auto expand in the page setup? I understand I would need the custom print size if it was longer than 22. Also in the print setting there is a check box for expand to fill. As well, Lightroom has the check box to expand to fill as well. This is a bit confusing to me as it should only need to be set once?

Are you sure roll is selected on the printer.
That would be one reason you got the error you referred to.
You can use 17x22 page but you must select page (sheet) in your setup as well as on the printer and you must send through a 17x22 sheet through the proper feed.

They mean different things. Lightroom is asking you if you want to expand and completely fill your aspect ratio which means it may crop parts to fill the entire print. If you don't choose this option it will fit the image leaving blank area.

The printer auto expand tells the driver to slightly oversiz the image to make sure printing extends slightly beyond the set size insuring a borderless print.

If you don't choose the auto expand option on the printer then you have to send a slightly oversized print and even then getting borderless can be a challenge.
