Sigma Photo Pro
« on: May 27, 2016, 04:23:28 am »

I need to do a complete ground up deletion/re-installation on my (Windows) laptop. Currently I have SPP 5.5.3 and when I download from the Sigma website, it's going to be v6 something. Given that I have the DP Merrills and have no intention of getting the Quattros, are there any downsides? I don't think any version after 5.5.3 has anything that benefits DP Merrills. Also I have an older desktop computer - presumably I'd have to update that as a file which has been opened in v6 can't be opened with v5, so i understand.

Nigel,
If you're in the ASA you might call Sigma and ask for assistance.
They're usually pretty helpful.
Their phone #: 631 585 1144
Good luck.

I received notice that Sigma just released version 6.4 of SPP.  The list of improvements is impressive.  However, still no X3F support via Capture One or ACR.  Too bad.

Over here they're already mentioning that it's slow: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/1027

Personally, I'm sticking with Merrill, pre-Merrill and SPP 5.5.3 - therefore no pressing need for V6.x
