profoto sync with XF body
« on: May 12, 2016, 07:37:18 am »

Hi, Does profoto change the power of its flash by changing shutter speed of Phase one XF accordingly? My friend that has both equipment told me taking photo with different shutter speed, from 1/125 to 1/1600, but same diaphragm f/16, has captured pictures with same brightness. He has not change the flash power at all

In an ideal "as advertised" world, this would be the case. He is getting good sync and not clipping.

Your Aperture is what impacts strobe exposure on your camera.
Not shutter speed (usualy).
Your friend has a leaf shutter (in the lens) not a focal plane shutter correct?

Yes he has leaf shutter LS series but he is sure he has only changed the shutter and leave the Aperture on F/11 fixed. But I can't get the same sync function in my studio with my XF body and Broncolor Siros 800 S with Broncolor trigger fixed on XF body; When I change the shutter speed, brightness also changed and flashed don't follow to compensate like Profoto. Is it because PhaseOne works better with Profoto or should I fix something?
Regards

Does Siros have flash duration settings? If you are at optimal color temp you may be clipping at faster shutter speeds
