A view of the southwest face of El Capitan taken from Yosemite Valley in early September 1981. This slide is part of series of photographs I took during a two-week cross-country trip from Maryland to my post-doctoral position in La Jolla, CA. I had never been west of the Mississippi River, and camped, hiked, fished, and photographed in as many National Parks as I could during the trip: Rocky Mtn, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Mt. Lassen, Yosemite, and Kings Canyon.
The original Ektachrome slide was converted to a digital file and processed with Lightroom and Photoshop (largely to enhance contrast and remove numerous blemishes on the slide). C&C welcomed, and thanks for viewing.
