Importing from iPhoto
« on: May 23, 2006, 12:57:26 pm »

Hi,

I'm thinking about giving Lightroom a try, since everyone seems to be so enthusiastic and I've just watched Michael's video tutorial. I have about 1,000 photos (yes, a small collection!) stored in iPhoto, in a fairly structured way: every one is a member of one album or another, and albums are organised into folders.

Is there any way (easy or not, but preferably easy) of duplicating this organisation in Lightroom without actually doing it again from scratch after the import? Is there any way of automating the import?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I had very unpleasant experiences with iPhoto. So I needed a new photo management app and found Photo Mechanic. Great cross-platform pro photo management app! Handles RAW+JPG, supports dual processors, links with your preferred graphic editors, and works within your existing (HFS+) folder/file system (unlike iPhoto).
Recommended!
