Classic & cliché view of a beech forest in spring... it's (almost) nothing special these days.

I love these last-season leaves still hanging on, before they get replaced by the new leaves.

On a breezy hike yesterday I saw lots of them, quivering excitedly in the breeze. One small beech had two horizontal branches of leaves, looking very much like socks hanging on a laundry line. I'm sorry I didn't stop to photograph them.

Thanks for sharing this, Terry.
