Russ, your cafés are even more weird than ours here in Spain!

As an aside: poor old Ken Rockwell gets a lot of stick, but he saved my bacon this afternoon. I'd been messing about with the tiny little exposure compensation button (stupidly, considering Matrix is so good!) and suddenly discovered that the tiny box indicator/signal was blinking away like mad, and I couldn't wind the shutter speed faster than a 1/1000 sec. So, I consulted Dr Google, as my German friend would say, and nothing I found came close to the problem. Then I thought: ah, Señor Rockwell, and he solved it easily within a few clicks and the advice I found to press both the gren buttons at once and hold for a sec or two... problem fixed! You may wonder if I own the manual; well I do, and it's as opaque and hard to navigate as the Atlantic coast of France! I tried and got nowhere (with the manual).
