Nice end to a stormy day

Earlier in the day it was raining, snowing, and we had 50 Mph gusts. The evening was surprisingly calm and clear.

Yes, I love watching the changes across these zones throughout the year. The new green is great as is the fall gold.

I was planning on hiking up farther before getting the camera out but when I saw this light I knew I had to stop right then and get the shot. Glad I did!
The light on the mountain got nice and colorful a little later but by then the valley floor was all in shadow and the scene no longer had the same feel.
