Hi allI would like to ask you if there is anyone else that was obliged to change 6 printing heads in 6 years of printing(!!!).The printer is the Epson 9900 which is used in good enough conditions. The last head was "burnt" in 3 months only.I start to believe that the problem is not the Printheads themselves... Any thoughts ?
very strange, never heard of this sort of failure rate. I would suspect something else is contributing, but have no clue as to what. It could be environmental, it could be excessive head strikes from media type (no idea what you are printing), I suppose it could be faulty circuitry or bad power, or it could be something you are doing as a user. (for example if you clean the head with windex on occasion, you will most likely burn out the head. I’ve seen enough anecdotal evidence of this).
Is it Epson service that is changing out the heads? Is it possible they are just throwing parts on (Printheads to be specific.)and the problem all along is something else?I am also at a loss..
I'm the second owner of an early 9900. Just had it cleaned and it's working better than when I purchased it. As far as I know, it's the original head. Perhaps this is an issue of "dirty" power? Is your mains stable and clean? Do you have consistent power? Maybe a UPS is needed to condition your power.
