I must be missing something as I see no sign-in or sign-out anywhere in Lightroom.
It hides in the help menu; Manage my Account....
Sign in with your adobe id* and you won't get any further nags unitl the next update/grade when things get reset.

*that's NOT the same as a CC subscription BTW.

Sadly it shows that I am signed in and it still insists on Internet contact. I have posted the question in the Adobe forums and have no answers or suggestions as yet.

So precisely what happens when you start Lr? What message does it display?

These messages are generated by LittleSnitch on a Mac.

Your link was interesting but my problem isn't that I cannot connect but that Lightroom wants to make me connect each and every time I launch the program. I want to be able to use the program on a machine that would be totally isolated from the Internet after the initial registration.

Lightroom wants to make me connect each and every time I launch the program.
The screenshots you've posted aren't from Lightroom, but just indicate that LR is checking if there's a connection.
If you actually are having a problem with Lightroom not working, please post Lightroom's error message, then people might be able to help more.

No the screen shots are from a program called Little Snitch that can block outgoing messages. But if I block the messages Adobe wants to send, the program then stops working.

So if I use a non-connected machine to use the program (legally etc) the program will not work beyond a couple of weeks.

Try letting them through once, then blocking them. What happens?

Clutching at straws.... Try zapping the preference file, and restarting the Mac before you start Lr again.

Ah the straws get thinner and thinner. No joy with getting rid of preferences. I must be missing getting rid of something. Updates checking turned off.

Then get in contact with the AdobeCare Twitter account and show them those screenshots.

Your not told that you have to login you just have to know it. The Adobe engineers won't put a sign Road Ends but they won't let you drive off the cliff either they just won't tell you to login, I think that's funny to them but frustrating to everyone else until you spend three hours once then you know the drill! On another note
why can't they FRIKING give us our choice of colors in paths? Try patching gray on gray!

But if I do not allow the communications, the program refuses to run after about two or so weeks so I do have to allow the communications even if I do not actively have to do anything.

It appears then that if you are connected to the internet and you specifically block Adobe from checking they deactivate the software?

Maybe that is so, and it would be easy to test. David did say "I want to use it on a laptop that never connects to the Internet."
