Good shooting! In that region, marble quarries have been in production for centuries and you can see the scars in the mountains from afar. Water in the rivers is milky white from that industry. Yes, this is quite sad but many people are still living from those quarries and all the related business.
At least, there's still Lardo di Colonnata  ;)

I think that it's only a shame.....now there are less than 1000 workers, 80 years ago they were more than 10000. But now the extraction is faster

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you… Now, everything is mechanized, optimized. When you see the "modern" mule pack (in other words, trucks) and all the equipment used, you have to wonder if those mountains will last until the end of the century.
