To give full credit here...I got the idea from Real World Sharpening...where this same technique is used to focus sharpening

Never used Find edges for stars masking but it works. Thank you
I think even better result can be achieved if perform selection of the mask you have and apply Refine edge with radius of 1-2 pixels.
