A Sunday Morning

It was intended as a test shot with a new camera. The Loxia 35/2 had produced some weird flare of strong lights. I suspected the something wrong with the lens but eventually learned that the stack of filters in front of the Sony A7's sensor is to blame and that the mark II version of that camera doesn't suffer this problem. So I got an A7II and took some test shots at sunrise. The flare opposite of the sun is normal (for this lens) and can be used for creative purposes, although not necessarily for this image. The important thing is that the flares that moved away from the light source towards the edge of the image are gone.
This is Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. Single exposure, processed in Capture One, fine tune in PS and Topaz Detail.

Nice light and beautiful location.
Ref. the Loxia 35 flare, here is a shot I took through an airplane window, taking off from Dubai late in the afternoon. I guess this is as extreme as it can go.
Regards.
