Leaf Aptus Quantum battery?
« on: January 28, 2016, 02:00:10 pm »

So I understand there's a Quantum battery that's capable of powering a Leaf Aptus back. If I just have the back, what do I need to make this happen? And what battery model is it? Thanks, folks.

I use a Quantum 2x2 with a Quantum 5D-16 cable specifically designed to provide the correct voltage for the Aptus backs.

I've been using my batteries on an Aptus-65 for 7-8 years now. I keep 2-batteries fully charged, but 1-battery will last all day (500+ actuations).

I also cobbled together an adapter which connects directly to the battery-slot on the bottom of the back. That way, I never have to swap batteries! I just plug-into with a short jumper cable.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Hank

Why thank you, sir. Looks like something I'll have to invest in, then, as the stock batteries are basically worthless IIRC.

Get one of these and hook it up to any 12V DC battery. Or look for an SB-L160 compatible pack...they come in single, double and even triple sizes...

Also a reasonable solution. I plan on getting new batteries anyway, as the ones that come with it are of unknown age to me.
