The price of this new lens represents significant savings over the US prices ($1350) because it was bought in Canada. The reason I am selling is that I bought two copies in order to test them to make sure I wouldn't get a bad one. It turned out to be more effort to send the extra copy to the Canadian dealer than I anticipated. It tested similar to the copy I kept, within margins of error, so it is a good copy. If needed, warranty service can be obtained by sending them to Sony Canada, which isn't really more difficult or costly than sending to Sony US.
