Color accuracy of iMac Retina
« on: January 17, 2016, 10:57:31 am »

I am currently working on a 2013 MB Pro and a Eizo CG241W, which I bought about 7 years ago.  I would like to have a larger monitor and am considering the new 27" iMac Retina.  I understand that Eizo is the "gold standard" of monitors, notably as far as calibration is concerned.  However, I am not a professional but what could be described as a serious amateur and I don't sell any work and print only for my own pleasure.  So my question is whether the iMac can be reasonably well calibrated. (I am using i1 display from xrite).

Thanks for your advice.

Georg

I am using iMac 27 (non-Retina) and Colormunki and have no problem with calibration, profiling or printing. I print both at home (Canon PRO-10) and in labs (sRGB).

I've worked on a non retina 27" quite a lot that was calibrated with an i1.
Had no noticable problems with color accuracy. You could always keep the Eizo and use it as a second monitor for color critical work.
